GMB's Adil Ray throws subtle swipe at Piers Morgan as he jokes he'll storm off set

Good Morning Britain host Adil Ray went to storm off set after Andi Peters took over his hosting duties for a snippet.

The host welcomed Andi on the show on Tuesday morning to give the sneak-peek segment into what was coming up on ITV’s Lorraine next.

Andi gave Adil and Charlotte Hawkins the breakdown of what would be taking place on the upcoming show as he was then prompted to read the top lines back on the GMB segment.

Adil was shocked to see Andi continue as he said: “I’ll just go now,” and stood up before adding: “Oh wait we’ve had a storm out before, I’ll just stay! I’ll stay.”

Seemingly remembering Piers Morgan’ s famous walk out, Andi chirped: “That never ends well!” as Adil took his seat once again while the fellow hosts chuckled.

They swiftly moved on as Andi began talking about the competition coming up.

In March this year Piers famously walked off set resulting in his co-host Susanna Reid to call for an emergency advert break as they tried to fix the situation.

It came after Alex Beresford, who had spoke out about Piers’ treatment of Meghan Markle, shared his concerns over Piers’ language on the show.

Alex had told Piers that Meghan was entitled to cut him off after the pair previously had a friendship prior to her relationship with Prince Harry.

Alex said to the host: “Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? Now, I do not think she has, and yet you continue to trash her.”

Piers had been biting his lip before he stormed out of the studio and refused to engage in the rest of the conversation as he said: “I’m done with this.”

On the same day, it was announced that Piers would be leaving Good Morning Britain and wouldn’t return for a final show following his epic exit.

ITV said in a statement at the time: “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain.

“ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”

Piers has now focused on new projects and also left his title show Piers Morgan’s Life Stories as he wrapped his final episode with Kate Garraway.

GMB returns tomorrow on ITV from 6am.
