Grease fans in meltdown after spotting X-rated wardrobe malfunction in sequel

Grease 2 fans have been sent into meltdown over an X-rated blunder almost 40 years after the sequel was released.

One eagled-eyed viewer spotted the racy wardrobe malfunction while watching the Grease sequel recently.

YouTube star and actor Justin Root logged into his Twitter account earlier this month to share a cheeky clip from the movie.

He noticed a very unfortunate “wardrobe blunder” in one scene, which happened while a background athlete was running and jumping over hurdles.

The clip has gone viral, with more than 131,000 views on the video at the time of writing.

Gobsmacked fans had plenty to say about the explicit moment, with many wondering how it even managed to make the cut.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Told you Grease 2 was better.”

Another added: “Can’t believe I’ve never noticed. Well thanks for the heads up I’ll make sure to watch this scene in slow motion from now on.”

While a third person posted: “Just another reason Grease 2 is better than Grease 1. This made my day, big thank you.”

A fourth social media user said: “All these years, that guy knew that happened, and never told anyone, thinking he got away with it.”

Originally released in 1982, Grease 2 features Maxwell Caufield and Michelle Pfeiffer as the lead characters Michael Carrington and Stephanie Zinone.

Taking place two years after the events of Grease, Stephanie is the new leader of the Pink Ladies (the clique that Sandy and Rizzo were part of in the original musical), while Michael is an English exchange student at Rydell High, who just happens to be Sandy’s cousin.

Only a handful of Grease’s cast members returned for the sequel, including Didi Conn as Frenchy and Eve Arden as Rydell High’s principal.

Pfeiffer openly regrets starring in Grease 2, telling Hollywood.com that she “hated that film with a vengeance and could not believe how bad it was.”

She even went on to attribute her decision to star in the film to her age at the time, saying, “I was young and didn’t know any better.”

Grease smashed records on release and becoming one of the most beloved films of its generation.

John Travolta’s Danny Zuko and Oliva Newton-John’s Sandy Olsson were the picture perfect silver screen couple, with the film’s frequent re-runs on TV these days a testament to its appeal.

While English-speaking audiences know it simply as Grease, the word doesn’t fly in other countries.

In Argentinian audiences have had it renamed to Vaselina, or Vaseline.
