Holly Willoughby has shared a backstage boomerang taken behind the scenes at her new, surprise, acting gig.
The TV presenter was unexpectedly offered the chance to have a guest role on Midsomer Murders – live on This Morning.
Holly, who has long been a big fan of the series, obviously grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
The 40-year-old found out about her “new job” back in March when she spoke to the ITV drama’s stars, DCI John Barnaby actor Neil Dudgeon, 60, and his co-star Nick Hendrix, 35, who plays Detective Sergeant Jamie Winter.
In the video, Holly is wearing a pretty, summery flowered dress and sandals and holding the show’s clapperboard with the caption: “Today is the day… @officialmidsomer. Excitement levels off the chart!”
Her fans went into meltdown.
One said: “This is the actual dream..” while another commented: “Yeah baby girl.. Actress.. Damn right.. TOPBUZZ sweetheart.. You the lady you the best.”
Another fan said: “Can ‘actress’ also be added to your Wikipedia page now that you’re filming this today? Have the best time Holly, you’re going to be great.”
A fourth wrote: “So flippin excited! After seeing them offer you a part I have started watching the latest episodes and any old series/episodes shown on Sky!!”

She said she would “love” to make an appearance on the show previously but little did she know, her dream was about to become a reality.
Co-star Philip Schofield was in on the surprise and craftily set it up on This Morning when the Midsomer cast was on.
He told her: “We had a brief meeting this morning to discuss how we were best to do this and I think we are best to do it right now and for you Neil and Nick to tell my friend here what she doesn’t know.”
Neil, who plays DCI John Barnaby, then piped up with: “We have all had a big talk about who we want to appear on Midsomer and we have decided that we want Holly Willoughby to appear in an episode of Midsomer Murders very soon.
“I have been speaking to people upstairs and they have been speaking to your people, but Holly I am emboldened here to offer you a role in Midsomer Murders.”
“That’s amazing!” shrieked Holly.
“Yes! Of course, I say yes. I have seen every single episode since it started way back when. Are you serious?”
“Yeah!” Phillip confirmed. “Oh, guys!” an emotional Holly said, clutching her hand to her chest.
