Holly Willoughby reveals she has secret fear — but she's 'not ready' to talk about it

ITV sweetheart Holly Willoughby says she has a “secret fear” that she is “not ready” to speak publicly about yet.

The comments come after the presenter, who has fronted This Morning with Phillip Schofield since 2009, has been unusually absent from the show this week.

Former Big Brother winner Josie Gibson has been standing in for her as a main presenter since Tuesday. Holly posted a message of support for her on her Instagram story yesterday, after Josie admitted being “in tears” from feeling overwhelmed by her temporary position.

Phillip Schofield confirmed live on the show on Tuesday that Holly had been home suffering with a stomach infection.

However, just before Holly was off the show, she confessed to having come to terms with a phobia in the last few years. She said she hoped that her story would allow others to “get help” and face their own fears.

She told Fearne Cotton on her Happy Place podcast that she began receiving therapy after appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here in 2018.

However, Holly was not willing to divulge any further details of her fear, as she feared it would overshadow the value of her message to fans.

According to The Sun, former Top of The Pops presenter Fearne asked her: “What’s beneath your fear, do you know”?

She replied “I do know what [that fear] is, but it is – well, it’s not something that is easy to about, and it’s not something I am there yet with it either,”

“People will focus on [the fear] rather than the message and point I want to talk about which is how you move past it.”

The TV host shared the update on her condition on Thursday, written from the standpoint of her beloved cat.

Posting her 7.4 million followers, she shared a picture of her cat and said: “Good morning… My name is Bluebell.

“Sadly Holly won’t be able to come out to play on @thismorning today as she is still under the weather…
