How much does Mariah Carey earn from 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' every year?

Mariah Carey doesn’t want a lot for Christmas, there is only one thing she needs and that is for you to listen to her Christmas song over and over again.

The singer rakes in the cash every year as we listen to her iconic tune All I Want For Christmas Is You on streaming sites and on the radio.

Such is its popularity that in 2019 it became number one in the United States Billboard Hot 100 25 years after its release.

Not bad for a song that is reported to have taken around 15 minutes to compose.

It has also featured in Love Actually and has been covered by the likes of Ariana Grande, Mumford and Sons and Shania Twain.

Celebrity Net Worth estimates that the singer receives between £450,000 and £750,000 every December from just this hit alone.

All I Want for Christmas Is You had grossed around £45 million by 2018, according to Business Insider.

She said in an interview with Billboard that Love Actually helped with the song’s popularity: “‘The curious thing about that is that [the movie] happened before the song was as big as it is.

“So the Love Actually moment, I’m actually very grateful for it because I think it did help the song reach an even greater audience.

“But I also think the song has taken on a life of its own that I had never anticipated.”

Mariah Carey is estimated to have an astronomical net worth of over £240 million, no doubt thanks to her hugely successful career.

Born in 1970 in Huntingdon New York, her debut album was released in 1990 and won her Grammy for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. The album also sold a reported 15 million copies across the globe.

She signed a huge deal with Virgin Music in April 2001, leaving Columbia Records in a contract that is reported to have guaranteed her £60 million for five albums.

The deal was one that Virgin would regret, a year later they paid her over £20 million to break the contract after her album Glitter did not do as well as expected.

In 2015 she signed a £22 million contract for a two-year Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace.
