Inbetweeners star Blake Harrison says Neil's infamous dance moves are bane of his life

Actor Blake Harrison believes his famous moves as Neil in The Inbetweeners Movie are “the bane of my life”.

The star, who cut robotic shapes to pull girls in his youth, said he can no longer even dance at weddings without being filmed by other guests.

Blake said: “I might have got a couple of snogs off the back of a few dance moves in my time.

“For me, it was always hit the dance floor as much as possible with good tunes, break out a few decent moves and see if anyone is magnetised to the moves. Then Inbetweeners comes along, I use it, and then I’ve never been able to dance again – it’s the bane of my life.

“I used to be a right laugh at weddings and stuff like that.

“Now whenever I’m at a wedding, if I go even near the dance floor, you see guests pulling their phones out to try and film you. And you’re like ‘ah, I can’t do it now.'”

Fans reckoned his legendary movements to the song We No Speak Americano by Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP was one of the most hilarious moments of the hit 2011 film.

Earlier this month, Blake hit headlines after he said he was genuinely “surprised” that people are still watching popular series The Inbetweeners.

He also spoke about his astonishment regarding younger viewers who have found an interest in the show.

Talking candidly to The Independent, the star said: “You’d be amazed at how young some kids are when they do watch it.”

He continued: “I’ve seen it. People come up to me, ‘He loves the show.’ I’m like, ‘How old is he?’ ‘He’s nine.’

“I’m [thinking], ‘What are you doing? You’re not being a good parent.’

“I’m surprised it’s still being watched now, if I’m honest. We filmed it in 2007 with series one, and the fact that 14 years later, it’s still being shown and there are still teenagers now watching it and enjoying it… that to me is really surprising.”

Blake, who is a father-of-two, is currently starring A Place for We at Park Theatre in London.
