Inside Keith Lemon's life – Davina McCall connection, stunning wife and huge net worth

Comedian Leigh Francis is known for his slapstick comedy as Keith Lemon on ITV and this week he took on the role of Amanda Holden’s Nan in comedy show The Holden Girls – but not much is known about his private life.

Leigh was born in Leeds and trained as a graphic designer before becoming a comedian.

He got his big break when TV presenter Davina McCall saw his stand-up routine and believed that he would be a comedic hit.

Davina helped Leigh get his role on Dom and Kirk’s Nite O’ Plenty, playing dating adviser Bobby Stark.

It was in 2000 that Leigh transformed into Keith Lemon on ITV’s Whatever I Want and then moved on to present ITV’s Celebrity Juice.

While on Celebrity Juice, Leigh has worked with a number of other popular TV personalities such as Holly Willoughby, Laura Whitmore, and Emily Atack.

He also received a BAFTA for his role in the show.

Though Leigh is considered a bit of an oddball and ridiculous anyway, sometimes the boundaries between him and his character Keith get blurred.

Fearne Cotton said: “The margins are now blurring from the real Leigh Francis to Keith Lemon, and I am like, ‘Are you in character? Or are you just being you, but being a bit weird?'”

He has previously presented Through The Keyhole and is known for creating Channel 4’s Bo’ Selecta, as well as writing best-selling books about the life of his character Keith.

Leigh is also very crafty, enjoying the creative process both at home and on his new show The Fantastical Factory of Curious Crafts.

Leigh owns two of his own companies: Bang Tidy Productions and Pretty Good Productions.

He is rumoured to be worth £3.6million.

His wife Jill Carter, a former beauty therapist, acts as a director in both of his companies.

Leigh married his wife Jill in 2002 and they share two daughters, Matilda and Dolly in Primrose Hill, Camden.

He recently posted a tribute to his wife, sharing loved-up snaps of themselves on the red carpet and dressed up as Batman and the Joker for Halloween.

Keith also shared a close-up of his stunning partner with her dark hair cascading around her shoulders as he gave her a sweet tribute, writing: “To my bestest and most favourite Appy birfday! Have a lovely day! Big love xxxx.”

In his home, the comedian features a makeshift home studio and a home-bar, stocked with spirits, both of which pay homage to his multiple successful roles, including Bo’ Skepta and Celebrity Juice.

His office, where he regularly holds interviews, is covered with photos marking his career, and there are also framed logos for Celebrity Juice placed around the room.

Spirit bottles are also lined up around the wall on white shelves, while cardboard cut-outs can also be placed in the room.
