Jamie Lee Curtis is spitting image of mum in iconic outfit at Halloween Kills premiere

Jamie Lee Curtis was the spitting image of her actress mother Janet Leigh, when she turned up to the Halloween Kills premiere in the outfit her mum wore in Alfred Hitchcock’s famous film Psycho.

Wearing a blonde wig and blue a-line dress, fans had to double take when they saw Jamie Lee Curtis arrive at the premiere of her latest film on Tuesday, October 12 in Hollywood.

She also held a bloody shower curtain in reference to the famous scene where Janet Leigh’s character was killed in Psycho.

Janet Leigh played Marion Crane, who after stealing money from her employers, is murdered in the shower by Norman Bates at his motel, in Alfred Hitchcock’s classic 1960s psychological horror.

The famous family connections don’t end there though – Jamie’s father was actor Tony Curtis, who starred in films including Some Like It Hot opposite Hollywood starlet Marilyn Monroe.

Jamie Lee Curtis followed in her parents’ footsteps, finding fame in films including 1978’s Halloween as Laurie at age 19, a role she is set to reprise in 2021’s Halloween Kills.

Halloween Kills is released on Friday, October 15, 2021 and sees Jamie’s character Laurie come face to face once again with the menacing Michael Myers.

She joins with her family and other members of the Illinois community who have survived his attacks to hunt down Michael Myers, and talking to Variety, Jamie Lee Curtis said: “It’s the ultimate good versus evil.”

She also said that the combination of Laurie’s innocence with the evil of Michael Myers creates “a tension that you, the audience member, wants to protect her”.

The original Halloween film was directed by John Carpenter and made over £70million at the box office on its release in October 1977, leading to a series of sequels including Halloween II and Halloween H20.

In 2018, a further Halloween film was released, which saw Laurie come face to face with Michael Myers for the first time in 40 years, putting herself and her family in danger.

The latest film in the series will see if Laurie can finally put an end to his reign of terror once and for all.
