Jeremy Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm beer becomes best-seller hours after release

Jeremy Clarkson’s Hawkstone Lager has shot to number one in the charts just hours after it’s release.

The 61-year-old Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host fended off stiff competition from well-known brands such as Budweiser, Stella Artois and Corona.

His lager, which was brewed and produced at Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds, has been flying off of the shelves since its launch with a “p*** up in a brewery” event.

As the product has been so in demand already, Jeremy’s team are toying with the idea of putting a limit on how many can be purchased per customer.

The former Top Gear host is hoping that reducing the amount people can purchase will help them to have enough supplies up until Christmas – as fears loom that they may run out before then.

Jeremy concluded early-on in his farm adventure that the soil on his land would work well with growing malt barley – a wheat that is used to make really good tasting beer.

The TV star joined forces with local Cotswolds brewers Rick and Emma Keene to make the “very highest quality of premium lager”.

His beer can be purchased at Amazon or online at the Diddly Squat Farm shop website – with 12 330ml bottles setting consumers back £35.

While promoting his product, Jeremy landed a joke about Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

He quipped: “Good news – I thought you’d only be able to buy my lager from my own farm shop, but it turns out you’ll also be able to buy it from Jeff’s website.

“Cheers!”

It isn’t just Jeremy’s beer that has been high in demand with customers – with masses heading down to his Diddly Squat Farm Shop to snap up other products.

However, the rural setting hasn’t really been designed for a bustling business with crowds of people and therefore complaints have been made about roads blocking up.
