Jesy Nelson loses 51k followers after Nicki Minaj's Leigh-Anne Pinnock rant

Former Little Mix babe Jesy Nelson has lost 51,000 followers on Instagram after her controversial live video with Nicki Minaj.

Jesy and Nicki had teamed up for an Instagram live to celebrate their new single Boyz, which released last week – but during the live, quite a few controversial topics were brought up.

On Monday, the pair discussed claims of Jesy “blackfishing” following leaked DMs allegedly sent by Leigh-Anne Pinnock urging an influencer to expose Jesy.

While the debate has caused quite the controversy, particularly among Little Mix fans, it seems many have decided to cut ties with Jesy as they opted to unfollow her on Instagram.

Jesy Nelson’s followers have been dropping after the Instagram live

Since October 9, Jesy had been dropping followers – but it went down substantially following her Instagram live on October 11.

The singer, who days prior had 8,485,100 followers on Instagram, now has 8,433,800 – a drop by over 51,000 followers.

Meanwhile, Leigh-Anne’s followers have increased substantially since the live, with the new mum going from 7,780,000 on the night of the live, to the latest stats sitting at 7,839,000.

Neither Jesy nor Leigh-Anne have said anything following the video, but within the clip Nicki was heard stating the claimed DMs as fact as she called Leigh-Anne a “big f*****g clown”.

Nicki branded Leigh-Anne Pinnock a ‘clown’

Nicki said: “There are lots of women out here in the Unites States that tan, get bigger lips, get all kinds of s**t done to themselves.

“I wear blonde hair, straight blonde hair down to my feet if I want to when I want to, contacts, whatever, I do whatever the f**k I want.”

While Jesy remained straight-faced for most of the clip, she began to laugh when Nicki told Leigh-Anne to focus her energy on something else and said she should “suck ya mother [sic]”.

The controversy also comes after The Sun claimed that Leigh-Anne had warned Jesy over her look last year, with her comments allegedly causing a rift between the two.

A source told the publication: “Leigh-Anne had a conversation with Jesy, trying to explain why she was upset and why it could be offensive.

“She felt she had to address it while making her racism documentary, but it apparently fell on deaf ears.”

The source added that Jesy’s statement that it had never been mentioned to her before is “really rude”.

Jesy has previously discussed that her exit from Little Mix has put some distance between the girls, and there is yet to be any public interaction since the video was recorded earlier this week.
