Katie Price banned from driving for another six months but blames 'admin error'

Katie Price was due to be back on the road on Tuesday, April 13, however the glamour model has been served another six-month driving ban, meaning she’ll be in the passenger seat for a little bit longer.

According to recent reports, Katie will serve an extended six month ban due to an “admin error”.

The 42-year-old was handed a two-year disqualification in October 2019 after she opted to withhold the identity of the person who had been driving her signature pink Range rover that was involved in a collision in Bexley the year before.

She later appealed her case on the grounds that a car was needed to ferry her son Harvey, 18, around due to his complex needs, including Prader-Willi Syndrome, autism and difficulties with his sight.

The courts were sympathetic to her situation as a mother to a son with special needs and reduced her ban to 18 months.

After going through a lengthy process to shave off six months from her ban, the My Crazy Life star is said to be “horrified” that she’s now back to square one.

Fortunately, the mum-of-five phoned the DVLA to discuss the situation surrounding a new license being sent to her.

The Sun have claimed that the administration error happened as Katie’s forms for her speeding conviction were sent to a former address, therefore it was not completed in a timely fashion.

An insider revealed to the publication: “She should be driving next week, she hopes.

“She’s made mistakes but this genuinely is an admin error. Katie has done her time.”

A representative for the reality star also confirmed: “Indeed Katie was to receive her licence this week – however on speaking to the DVLA was informed a further time was yet to be honoured due to an admin error in holding an incorrect address for Miss Price.

“Miss Price is appealing and expects to be driving once this matter has been cleared up.”

Katie’s rep told Daily Star: “This has been a rather frustrating set back for Katie as you can image – all will be amended soon.”

The model turned TV star has been disqualified from driving six times and plans to appeal the extended period.

Katie’s first driving incident occurred when she was caught speeding by a camera at 83mph in 70mph zone, back in December 2009.

This didn’t directly result in a ban however she failed to respond to two speeding tickets and was served a year from driving there after.

Another issue with speeding in 2018 saw her licence taken away for another six months, having already had a number of points.

The following year she was caught driving while disqualified and not having third party insurance.

A few weeks ago police confirmed they’d received reports that the starlet had been seen driving her Volkswagen Beetle.

A police spokesperson told the daily star: “We received a report of a 42-year-old woman allegedly driving while disqualified around 2.10pm on Friday (19 March).

“The incident is believed to have taken place during the afternoon last Monday (15 March) in Ashtead.

“The information has been reviewed, and given that it is hearsay evidence, it would be disproportionate to take any further action.”
