Liam Payne left secret surprise in new Disney film for four-year-old son Bear

Liam Payne has admitted he left his real voice in his upcoming Disney film to see if his son Bear will recognise his voice when he watches the movie.

The 28-year-old appeared on BBC’s The One Show on Thursday night to talk about his new song Sunshine which also features on the soundtrack for the film Ron’s Gone Wrong.

The former One Direction member revealed he voices three of the characters in the hit film which is set to hit theatres on October 22, 2021.

And while the dad-of-one discussed the process of writing the song and integrating it into the movie, the singer revealed he has left a surprise Easter egg in the movie for his and Cheryl’s son.

When guest presenter Gethin Jones asked Liam whether his four-year-old will recognise his father’s voice in the film, Liam revealed he had deliberately voiced one of the characters using his natural speaking voice.

He explained: “He’s very switched on so I feel like he might. I do three of the beat bots.

“One of them is in a bubblehead courtroom scene where I say, ‘The stock price of these robots has gone down.’

“And that’s my voice that I left in there purposefully to see if he does twig to it.”

While on the evening show, the doting dad revealed how recording the character’s voices was “one of the most nerve-wracking experiences of [his] life”.

He added: “It was kind of three beeps and then spit the line out … but I really enjoyed it.”

The film will be Bear’s “first proper cinema experience” and Liam can’t wait to take him with all of his nieces and nephews to a private screening of the film later on next month.

The pop star shares his son with his ex-X Factor judge Cheryl Cole who they welcomed together back in 2017 after dating for two years.

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One
