Little Mix announce first single as a trio after Jesy Nelson's abrupt departure

Little Mix has announced it is released its first single as a trio since Jesy Nelson quit the girl band last year to focus on herself and her mental health.

The British girl group, which formed during season eight of The X Factor that they went on to win, was made up of Jesy, Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.

Now the trio remains and fans have been left delighted after they announced their first single with just the three of them.

The girls also revealed that the tune will feature the singer Saweetie and will drop at the end of the month.

In a video to their millions of followers, the girls said: “Our brand new single Confetti featuring Saweetie is out on the 30th, Friday! Check it out!”

Perrie promised: “30th of April, are we in April? You’re going to absolutely gag!”

Sharing to their 13.8million followers, the girls looked as happy as ever as they broke the news to their young fan base.

It comes as Jesy is reportedly recording her first solo music since splitting from Little Mix in the same studio where Sam Smith penned their own record-breaking debut album In The Lonely Hour.

Over the past few weeks Jesy, 29, has been laying down her vocals at exclusive studio F Block with Brit nominated producer and writer Patrick Patrikios and London based singer-songwriter aB Keen.

In between sessions, the Shout Out To My Ex songstress, who has teased fans with the prospect of new music, has been unwinding in the nearby park.

A source told Daily Star online: “Jesy has been spending a lot of her time at F/H Block which is one of the most prestigious music studios in London.

“It’s got a great history of turning out some monster albums. Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour was written there, as was Emeli Sande’s debut album.

“Jesy and her team have been seen taking a break in between sessions in the nearby park.”
