Love Island's Brad plans to wait for Lucinda after bowing out of villa for her

After Brad McClelland dumped himself from Love Island his thoughts turned to a possible future with Lucinda Stafford and whether he should wait for her.

The Northumberland super-hunk was the complete gentleman on Wednesday evening when he bowed out of the villa so that Lucinda could enjoy the experience further.

Brad and Lucinda were voted the least compatible couple by the public in a vote on Tuesday night and they were forced to choose between themselves which one would leave.

The grossly unfair predicament on the ITV dating show saw Brad rise to the occasion and give way to Lucinda who had only been in the villa for a week, whereas he had enjoyed two weeks.

Through tears, he told Lucinda: “You’ve gotta stay, honestly.”

“Are you sure? Do you not think we should go together?” Lucinda wondered as Brad replied: “It’s up to yourself.”

Brad insisted she stayed as it was only fair considering he had his fair go at most of the ladies in the villa.

Following his exit Brad plans to “wait it out” and see whether their budding romance can work on the outside world.

Asked if he was waiting for Lucinda, Brad said: “To answer that question, I really don’t know.

“My gut instinct would be to wait it out, see where it’s at and continue on, just to see if it was a good thing.

“It started off more than well. It was unreal. It would be sad not to see how it would go on the outside.”

The 26-year-old labourer fell head over heels for Lucinda when she entered the villa and given the chance he probably would have married the Brighton singleton there and then.

But Brad insists he is in no rush and feels relaxed about how long he may well have to wait for her to come out.

“Do you wait for like six weeks, hoping that she isn’t [with someone] and then missing opportunities? Or do you rush in and forget about Cind and move on… I’m in no rush. I didn’t expect to find anyone like her in there.”
