Love Island's Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt engaged after 'perfect' proposal

Following a “perfect” proposal during the lockdown, Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt are getting married, the smitten Love Island stars have confirmed.

The sweethearts, who fell for one another on the ITV2 reality show back in 2017, broke the news with a heartwarming Instagram post this evening.

Waving her hand at the camera, Camilla’s engagement ring – which had been personally designed by her hubby-to-be – was in full view.

The lovebirds cradled their four-month-old daughter Nell between them for the snap, beaming at the camera as they announced the news.

Camilla, 31, said: “The most perfect ring that only the person who knows me the very best would be able to design for me.

“@jamiejewitt_ only you could totally surprise me and at the same time be exactly the wonderful person I know and love. What a perfect evening with these two, my future husband and our darling Nell.”

Jamie, 30, shared his own emotional tribute to his bride, struggling to express the joy he was feeling after getting on bended knee.

He wrote: “She said yes!!!

“I’ll fail miserably if I try to describe how I feel right now. All I will say is I have everything I need right here. I love these two more than anything. @camillathurlow I can’t wait to call you my wife.”

Their Love Island co-stars flooded the comment section below, congratulating the couple on their engagement and expressing their delight in seeing a long-lasting love story emerge from the reality dating series.

Jessica Shears, who is married to her co-star Dom Lever, wrote: “Congrats guys xxx.”

“Congratulations, this is amazing xx” added Amber Davies, who won the 2017 series with then-boyfriend Kem Cetinay.

And 2018 contestant Laura Anderson chimed: “Huge Congratulations you two! Wonderful news woohoo!”

Former Explosive Ordnance Disposal expert Camilla quickly became a fan favourite during her appearance on Love Island four years ago.

Model Jamie was a late arrival into the villa, quickly sweeping the English Rose off her feet after a string of unhappy dates with the other bachelors on the show.

The sweethearts made it into the series finale, narrowly missing out on the £50,000 prize as winners Kem and Amber beat them at the final hurdle.

Since leaving the show, their relationship has gone from strength to strength, with Jamie publicly thanking Camilla for supporting him through his battle with depression.

They announced they were expecting their first child together in May of last year, with little Nell arriving in October.
