Love Island's Danny Bibby hopes to date AJ outside the villa after brutal axe

Danny Bibby has revealed that he’s open to pursuing things with AJ Bunker outside of the Love Island villa after he was dumped from the dating show.

The hunky tradesman, 25, was axed from the show after his fellow Islanders voted him off of the ITV Island.

It comes as Danny’s love interest, AJ Bunker, was also booted off the show following a vote from the lads.

Danny and AJ, who both entered the villa recently as bombshells, had only just begun developing a connection on the show before being sent home, but after leaving the show the pair seem hopeful about spending more time together.

During his exit interview, Danny said: “Me and AJ are a lot more suited. Obviously, she’s my type on paper looks wise and she’s up for a laugh. She smashed the first challenge [cat and mouse] when she was new like me.

“She put her all into it. She bossed that. Full of confidence and I liked it.”

AJ then replied: “Yeah, me and Danny did click straight away”.

“It’s a shame we only sort of got to have one chat before this happened. Again, it’s early days, we’ll see what happens I guess. I’m open to see what happens.”

Despite their time on the show being brief, Danny and AJ had already shared some cheeky smooches in the villa.

AJ had previously been interested in Hugo Hammond, who she admitted she fancied, but Hugo decided to call it quits with her as he didn’t feel the same way.

After yesterday’s challenge, Hugo told AJ: “At the beginning, there was something I couldn’t quite put my finger on, and I thought the more we got to know each other, the more time we spent together, I might be able to kind of figure out what it was.

“But, at the minute I just see that you and I are better off as friends on that front.”

He even suggested AJ should pursue a connection with Danny.

AJ explained that it would be unlikely that she pursues the former PE teacher outside of the villa as he ‘friend-zoned’ her.

She explained: “He friend-zoned me now, so I’d be happy to meet up with him as a friend. But I feel like, I put in quite a bit of effort and I guess we’ll just see when he comes out. I don’t think he gave me too much of a chance to be honest or made that much effort.”

Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV.
