Love Island's Molly-Mae Hague donates to Ashley Cain’s bid to save baby daughter

Love Island stars Molly-Mae Hague and Maura Higgins have helped Ashley Cain’s fundraising campaign to save his baby daughter smash its £1million target in just 16 hours.

The reality TV pair donated £1,000 each to help MTV star Ashley Cain’s GoFundMe campaign to pay for lifesaving treatment for his daughter Azaylia, seven months, who is battling leukaemia.

Influencer Mrs Hinch, real name Sophie Hinchliffe, also pledged £3,000 to fund medical costs in Singapore. The campaign is now at £1.4 million.

The 30-year-old revealed Azaylia had relapsed this week following an unsuccessful bone marrow transplant. She was diagnosed with the disease when she just only eight weeks old.

The heartbroken family raised the money to fly to Singapore for year-long CAR-T therapy and a haploid transplant to give her the best possible chance.

A £500,000 deposit was necessary just to be accepted onto the program.

Meanwhile fashion brand Pretty Little Thing’s founder Umar Kamani became to campaign’s top donor after giving a whopping £20,000.

Faded clothing gave a hugely generous £10,000 which was matched by fashion brand founder Adam Frisby, who launched In The Style.

Announcing the campaign had surpassed its goal, Cain took to his Instagram Stories to thank everyone last night.

The MTV star said: “I am absolutely lost for words. I’m overwhelmed with the sheer amount of support that you guys have given us. You guys that shared the post, people that have donated.

‘Honestly, the amount of kindness that you have shown. The amount that you don’t even realise you have helped us is just incredible and me and my family are eternally grateful to you guys.

He added: “I didn’t even know ‘til tonight. I must have gone on my phone and seen thousands of messages. I thought they were gonna be saying that we’re close and the fact that we’ve hit it and we’re way above is just incredible.

“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

Ashley and his girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee begged this week for donations to help get their little girl the best chance of survival after their “terrifying journey.”

Writing on the GoFundMe page, Ashley penned: “Azaylia is such a strong little girl who has fought through every near impossible battle so far and she has done it all with love in her heart and a smile on her face!

“We pray that we can raise the funds to get her to Singapore so she can continue fighting for the life that she loves so much!

“Azaylia has changed our lives, she has made our lives and she deserves the chance to live her own life.

“She is beautiful, she is strong, she is courageous and she glows with hope and happiness. Our hearts are intertwined and with one beat of her heart, our hearts beat along together.

Ashley added that the money left over from the campaign would be given to other families with children suffering in the same way.

He said: “We will be donating any extra money to other children and their families in the same situation as us – we pledged to give back to this community from the moment we were thrust into it and that is something we will always honour.”
