MAFS UK fans baffled as TOWIE's Debbie Bright 'gatecrashes' Morag's wedding

Married At First Sight UK fans were left stunned on Tuesday night, as they were sure one TOWIE regular had ‘gatecrashed’ Morag Crichton’s wedding day.

Eagle-eyed viewers were certain they’d spotted Debbie Bright – mum of Lydia Bright – playing a very vital role in the wedding ceremony, as Morag prepared to exchange vows with Luke Dawson.

But it turned out to be Morag’s mum – who was the spitting image of Debbie.

She was there to help Morag prepare for the big day, as she stressed about potentially meeting the man of her dreams.

“If I don’t fancy him, I’m gonna be really disappointed,” Morag confessed as she pulled up to the venue.

Taking to Twitter, one fan quickly posted: “Her mum looks like Debbie Bright from TOWIE! #MAFSUK!”

Another followed up: “This woman’s mum looks like Debbie from TOWIE!”

“Isn’t that Lydia’s mum from TOWIE?” someone else wondered.

While a fourth penned: “Fully thought Morag’s mum was Debbie off TOWIE for a minute!”

Others, meanwhile, compared Morag’s bubbly personality to that of another The Only Way is Essex regular – blonde bombshell Gemma Collins.

“Morag reminds me of Gemma Collins!” one fan tweeted.

Morag finally met her match at the end of the aisle, but wasn’t wholly impressed with what she saw, as she opined that he “isn’t what I asked for”.

It was good that Morag had her mum to support her through the marriage, as she previously reduced fans to tears as she broke down while discussing her dad’s death.

She had been supporting him through his illness, and wished he was there to share her big day.

The episode also saw the show’s first ever same-sex couple, Matt and Daniel, prepare to exchange vows – but the age gap between the two, combined with Morag and Luke’s personality mismatch, led some fans to question the experts’ choices.

Some even insisted producers had a ‘game plan’ to create more drama between the newlyweds.

Posting a meme which read “I’m just so random, I can’t believe I just did that”, one fan added the caption: “The producers after deliberately pairing up incompatible people to create drama.”

And when Morag lamented that she wanted a huge, hairy guy to meet her at the altar, another commented: “Hmm if there’s no physical from the jump, it won’t ever work. They lie, you can’t grow attraction if it was never there.”

Married At First Sight UK continues tomorrow at 9pm on E4.
