Married At First Sight UK's Marilyse Corrigan spotted in throwback TOWIE clip

Married at First Sight contestant Marilyse Corrigan once appeared on The Only Way is Essex to support Mario Falcone back in 2013.

She has grown in popularity this week as fans of the E4 dating show saw the 37-year-old marry a complete stranger on last night’s episode.

Viewers found it hard to watch military man Franky Spencer’s awkward wedding speech, but what isn’t hard to watch at all is the throwback clip of stunning Marilyse pop up on TOWIE.

The personal trainer made her appearance on ITV’s popular reality series back in 2013 with some intel on Mario Falcone’s supposed flirting with the show’s Amy Broadbent.

The Sugar Hut babe had claimed she and Mario left a Manchester nightclub together, but Marilyse told his then-girlfriend Lucy Mecklenburgh that it wasn’t quite what she had witnessed.

On the episode, the Beverley-born beauty swore hands down that she saw Mario leave the club on the night in question with his pals, not Amy.

Her defence also cast doubt over Little Chris’ brother Ben’s claims that Mario had turned up to the club with Amy.

In the footage, viewers can see Marilyse give her version of events to Lucy, who sits across the table in a café.

Dressed in blue jeans and a patterned vest top, the mum-of-two tries her best to save Mario’s bacon, swearing he “kept himself to himself”.

She insists Mario had zero interest in Amy, adding it was the other way around.

Marilyse says Mario left the club with his friends that night

“Mario was there with his friends, and he was literally sat in the same seat all night, just with a group of lads”, Marilyse told Lucy.

“He weren’t up dancing. He weren’t doing anything like that. I didn’t even see him drink loads”.

She went on to say: “[Amy] was fighting past people to sit next to him, and he didn’t look too happy about it. He was getting a bit p***ed off. She would not leave him alone”.

Ultimately, Marilyse saved the day, with Lucy choosing to believe Mario. The couple remained an item until a few months later, when further drama led to a split.
