Maura Higgins 're-follows Giovanni Pernice on Instagram' after 'heartbreaking' split

Maura Higgins has re-followed her ex-boyfriend Giovanni Pernice on Instagram following their ‘utterly heartbreaking’ split.

The 30-year-old Love Island star and Giovanni, 31, went their separate ways earlier this month.

News of their split was confirmed after Maura, who is said to be “devastated by the break-up, deleted all pictures of the Italian dancer from her Instagram page earlier this week.

She also unfollowed him on the social media site, but not for long.

On Wednesday, the stunning model appeared to be following Giovanni once again, meaning a friendship could be on the cards in wake of their separation.

The former couple confirmed their romance in July this year.

Their break-up is understood to have been initiated by Giovanni, who called time on their relationship over concerns about the lack of time they spent together amidst their hectic work schedules.

It’s also been reported that Giovanni wasn’t willing to settle down, ultimately sinking the romance.

Another source told The Sun that Maura is having a rough time ‘coming to terms’ with their separation, having ‘genuinely thought Gio was the one’.

It comes as reports suggest the Irish star “couldn’t handle” Giovanni’s “amazing bond” with his Strictly Come Dancing partner, Rose Ayling-Ellis.

Giovanni was partnered with Rose at the beginning of this year’s Strictly series and speaking recently, a source close to Maura alleged that the model grew weary of his closeness with the 26-year-old deaf EastEnders actress.
