Meghan Markle swigs baby milk and sings 'I'm a kitten' in bizarre TV skit

Meghan Markle has appeared in a rare interview with Ellen DeGeneres with the Duchess of Sussex taking part in a skit that saw her guzzle baby milk from a bottle.

The duchess, who was wearing a hidden earpiece, was encouraged by the chat show host to eat a tortilla crisp like a chipmunk, refer to herself as mummy and tell jokes as part of a prank on unsuspecting vendors.

She was asked to sing a made-up song while wearing cat ears, which drew laughs and applause from the audience. Meghan said afterwards they were “great sports”.

The skit also saw Meghan shop for crystals as she performed bizarre acts, such as closing her eyes and holding a crystal to her head while chanting.

She then placed the crystal down before looking at hot sauces and “mumma loves hot sauce!”

Alongside the incredibly odd scenes, Meghan was guzzling a bottle of baby milk which she pulled from her bag – packed in preparation by Ellen.

With the royal swigging baby milk, singing ‘I’m a kitten’ and meowing for the show, fans quickly took to Twitter to share their astonishment at her actions.

One user wrote: “This girl is a comedian.”

Meghan was also seen squatting and declared she ‘had healing powers’.

At one point, Ellen tasked the former Suits actress with touching her elbow and nose before asking her to squat – in an apparent test to see if Meghan could hear her.

Firstly, Ellen said: “Now, Meghan, if you can hear me, touch your elbow”.

Meghan obliged before Ellen instructed her: “Alright, touch your nose if you can hear me”, which Meghan did too.

Then Ellen said: “Do a squat if you can hear me” and the former royal did just that, which left the studio audience in fits of laughter.

Ellen then got Meghan to keep repeating the phrase “this is a lovely day” until it lost all meaning.

One Twitter user wrote: “This is the Meghan Markle era.”

Another said: “Watch this and try not to laugh. I dare you.”

While Meghan was mostly featured in a skit throughout her episode, one guest got a surprise from Prince Harry and Meghan when they donated $20,000 to their charity startup.

Meghan also discussed her family life and living in LA while she was on the show after she was welcomed on stage with a barrel of applause, a standing ovation and strutting out to Lizzo’s Good As Hell.

The interview was broadcast on Thursday and was hotly-anticipated after its surprise announcement on Wednesday.

The presenter was thrilled to welcome Meghan on to her show to sit in her famous hot seat that many A-lister have perched on before her.

The interview has already come under fire by Meghan’s critics, following the release of a teaser clip on Wednesday, with royal commentator Andrea Levin calling her ‘phony’ on Good Morning Britain.

Meghan currently lives with her husband Prince Harry, son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and daughter Elizabeth ‘Lilibet’ Alexandra Mary Windsor in a stunning mansion in Montecito, California.

The royal couple swapped their UK Windsor home for the beautiful US property which they purchased in 2020, after deciding to step away from the glare of the UK press.

Whether they decide to come home for Christmas, to spend some time with the Queen, has been much debated lately – but it looks like they are going to stay put.
