Mick Norcross laid to rest in private funeral as son Mason pays moving tribute

TOWIE star and Essex businessman Mick Norcross has been laid to rest.

The former owner of nightclub Sugar Hut was given an intimate send off by close friends and family on Thursday after his tragic death last month.

Mick was just 57-years-old when he was found dead at his home after taking his own life.

Taking to social media, Mick’s son Mason, 19, penned a public tribute to his dad.

In the emotional open letter, the heartbroken lad vowed to honour his late father’s name.

Mason wrote: “To my dad today is the day we put you to rest.

“I am truly lost for words you was my everything I am so grateful for everything you done for all of us you was the best dad a boy could ever ask for! You was such a strong man there was so many things I wanted to say to you.”

He continued: “I didn’t ever think this day would come that I would have to write this.

“Ever since I left school you always wanted me in work and I tried my best everyday to go because I know I would be expecting a phone call, you would always check on me everyday no matter how bad your day was, you would keep it strong and I am so happy for that.

“I will try so hard for you dad and I will look after mum and Hollie forever like you always told me to.”

The post went on to praise Mick for teaching his children everything they know.

Mason praised: “There will not be a day that goes by where I won’t think about you you have took a part from me that I will never get back, you was one special man and loved by so many.

“I wish I could thank you for everything you done for me you gave me the best 19 years a boy could ever ask for, I will love you forever dad until we meet again.”

An inquest into Mick’s death took place earlier this month with assistant coroner Michelle Brown confirming “mobile phone downloads and iPads” were being looked into by the police.

He added that a “very detailed letter from a family member” was also provided.

Coroner’s officer Sarah Lee said during the hearing of the incident on January 21: “Paramedics attended and sadly pronounced him dead.

“Police attended, all protocols were followed, and his death was confirmed as non-suspicious.”

On the morning of his death Mick took to Twitter to post a message of positivity telling his 500,000 followers: “At the end remind yourself that you did the best you could. And that is good enough.”
