Nadine Coyle left 'exhausted and unable to see' during Girls Aloud heydays

Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle has revealed she was left ‘exhausted and unable to see’ during the height of her fame.

Nadine, 35, who found fame after winning a place in the chart-topping group alongside Cheryl, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and Sarah Harding, made the confession during an Instagram Live session with Sink The Pink.

Speaking about her days in the band, Nadine said: “I was 17 and the oldest in the group was maybe 21, so we are all so young.

“The overriding thing I remember was that I was so exhausted all the time.

“Exhausted to the point that your eyes were crossing all the time.

“We were all going through the same stuff at the same time.”

The Derry-Londonderry native went on to add: “We all knew if we did a late show the night before sometimes we would get in from a show, shower and then get into the clothes for the next day – then get picked up a few hours later to go for the next show.

“It was that that sickly exhausted feeling.”

Despite admitting she loved her job, Nadine says the reality of fame wasn’t what she expected.

She said: “I always wanted to sing.

“Then once you start doing it there is so much more. The singing part of it is the small part of it.

“You are doing all of these things. There were all those magazines in those days. It was constant. There was so much promo.

“It turned from the dream of being a pop star to really working hard to keep it going and get through the workload that there was.”
