Naga Munchetty mocks weatherman by asking if rain comment was 'worth hearing'

BBC Breakfast’sNaga Munchetty made a brutal swipe at her colleague after he was talked over at the end of his weather forecast.

Meteorologist Matt Taylor was not at the studio on the programme today (April 16) as he visited a clergy house in Alfriston, East Sussex.

As he finished the segment and handed back to the studio, he got shut down by the presenter.

Matt said: “Overall, a lot of dry weather. Not a huge amount of rain, temperatures in the mid teens in England and Wales[…]

“Not much rain in the forecast next week and beyond. That is how it looks here in East Sussex – back to Naga and Charlie.”

Naga replied: “You are spoiling us Matt, good tips for the gardeners but the rain will come back I’m sure, that is guaranteed for the UK.”

When co-host Charlie Stayt started moving on to the news, Matt tried to reply to Naga and the two voices overlapped.

An awkward silence followed before Charlie asked: “I didn’t heart that, what did you say Matt?”

Matt then quickly responded: “The rain will come back at once, I say the rain will come back all at once.”

Naga puffed out her cheeks and savagely chimed in: “That was worth hearing, wasn’t it?

“If you’re gonna say something, I mean, come on! Say something that we’ll be happy about.”

She then looked away as Charlie asked business editor Ben Thompson to explain how businesses are doing in the first week following the lifting of lockdown.

It comes after Naga herself was shut down by weather presenter Carol Kirkwood over her cheeky “pig” jibe in last week’s show.
