Ozzy Osbourne backs wife Sharon as she leaves The Talk after Piers racism row

Black Sabbath star Ozzy Osbourne has publicly defended his wife Sharon Osbourne in a recent Instagram post.

Ozzy, 72, backed up his Mrs by declaring that he’s most definitely ‘team Sharon”.

Following on from her heated on-air discussion regarding race and the Oprah Winfrey interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Sharon decided to resign from her panellist role on The Talk.

Racism allegations against Sharon, 68, continued to circulate after she was involved in a rather tense on-air argument with her co-host Sheryl Underwood regarding Piers Morgan’s views and his “racially insensitive” behaviour towards Meghan Markle.

The mother of three defended Piers and said he was entitled to his “freedom of speech” and urged Sheryl to explain where racism occurred with Meghan’s overall treatment.

Sheryl attempted to expand on her point that racism is not always “the words themselves” but the “intent” or the way certain things are often “said” but a frustrated Sharon kept on fighting back.

Since then, Ozzy has posted a photo of himself with Sharon at a red carpet event. In the pic the singer is holding his hand close to his ear, to show he can’t hear too well.

The rocker captioned the post: “I can’t f***ing hear you! #TeamSharon.”

Music mogul, Sharon was the last original panellist on The Talk, but after 11 years on the show she “decided to leave”.

According to The Mail on Sunday, Sharon is “livid” over the allegations made against her and the situation with The Talk, and according to reports, the star is currently planning to sue CBS for “damages over her departure”.

Reports claim that Sharon might sue

Momentarily, CBS has put The Talk on hiatus for the foreseeable future as the cast prepares to make its transition.

CBS made the announcement on Friday and said:”Sharon Osbourne has decided to leave The Talk.”

“The events of the March 10 broadcast were upsetting to everyone involved, including the audience watching at home.

“As part of our review, we concluded that Sharon’s behaviour toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace.”

The network continued: “At the same time, we acknowledge the network and studio teams, as well as the showrunners, are accountable for what happened during that broadcast.

“As it was clear the co-hosts were not properly prepared by the staff for a complex and sensitive discussion involving race.

“During this week’s hiatus, we are coordinating workshops, listening sessions and training about equity, inclusion and cultural awareness for the hosts, producers and crew. gng
