Piers Morgan brands Harry and Meghan 'world's most toxic royals' in stinging swipe

Former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan has taken another savage swipe at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as he said their campaign at the Global Citizen Live event “made him puke” and branded them “toxic”.

In his latest column for MailOnline, Piers called Meghan and Harry “the world’s most toxic royals” and hit out at their “laughable mission statement to put ‘compassion into action,’ while never missing a chance to spew unsubstantiated abuse about their own families that they persistently trash and disown”.

The controversial broadcaster tweeted on Monday morning: “I’ve felt duty bound to write another @DailyMail column about the Prince & Princess of Polluting Hypocrisy & their campaign to start a new renegade money-grabbing rival Royal Family. Posting soon…”

And the 56-year-old followed through, accusing the pair of indulging in a “shameless, relentless orgy of self-publicizing, money-grabbing duplicity” on the couples trip to New York City, which saw them speaking at Global Citizen Live to promote equal access to the Covid-19 vaccine.

Piers tweeted as the column was released: “*NEW COLUMN* We need an urgent vaccine to save us from the Duke and Duchess of Polluting Hypocrisy – and their cynical campaign to set up a rival money-grabbing renegade Royal Family.”

It was the first joint public appearance for the Duke and Duchess since the birth of their daughter Lilibet, with the pair also paying a visit to the 9/11 memorial.

Piers admitted the move “made him puke”, writing: “Ostensibly designed for them to lecture the world’s ‘ultra-rich’ pharmaceutical firms on ‘equality’, something the privileged, pampered prima donnas know all about from the palatial comfort of their Californian mansion, the trip was in fact a ruthlessly cynical attempt to establish their new alternative Royal Family.”

The presenter also accused the couple of “gleefully milking their royal titles with the obscene greed of a sounder of swine” while “loathing” the monarchy, and attempting to make themselves “repulsively rich and famous”.

Piers also took umbrage with Meghan’s wardrobe for the New York trip, which reportedly cost around £66,000, and called her fashion “unflattering” and “bulky”.

It is far from the first swipe Morgan has made at the couple. Meghan reportedly complained to ITV boss Carolyn McCall about his comments regarding her interview with Oprah Winfrey. Piers was asked to apologise on air but he refused and quit the show.

The new News UK anchor recently revealed he’s joining The Sun and News Corp in a global deal that’s a “bigger comeback than Cristiano Ronaldo”.
