Piers Morgan undergoes dramatic hair transformation as hairdressers reopen

Piers Morgan has undergone a dramatic hair transformation as barber shops and hairdressers opened for the first time in 2021.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter, 56, shed his shaggy lockdown hair in favour of a shorter chop – and he was definitely looking a lot neater in the snaps he shared to Instagram.

At a Kensington salon, Piers gave the camera a thumbs up as he took a mirror selfie with his stylists.

He wore a barber’s cape and face mask as he posed for the picture – but he was definitely grinning under the face covering.

“Hair we go!” Piers wrote alongside the photo. “God it’s good to be back under the knife.”

Followers flocked to the comments section to share their appreciation for Piers’ new style, with his former co-star Richard Arnold commenting: “A fine weave.”

Someone else wrote: “Suits you sir.”

And another social media user said: “Looking sharp!”

A third added: “You rock Piers! Whether at the studio or at the hairdressers.”

Another keen Instagrammer typed: “Looking 10 years younger!”

The presenter showcased his “butchered” haircut on GMB back in January, conducted by wife Celia.

Wife Celia was tasked with cutting Piers’ hair during lockdown

He said on the programme: “Celia cut my hair again. I told her ‘go short’ because we don’t know, there may be a national lockdown soon.

“As you can see! It is short, very short, isn’t it?”

Piers said he was trying to cut down the number of times his poor wife was forced to cut his hair.

Co-host Susanna Reid at the time teased: “So butcher it the first time? And then we don’t need to do it again.”

Piers’ latest controversy saw him hit headlines for storming off the GMB set following a row with meteorologist Alex Beresford over Meghan Markle’s claims she experienced racism at the hands of the Royal Family.

He was later interviewed by US TV host Tucker Carlson, where he addressed some of his explosive claims.

The broadcaster said he “still doesn’t believe” Meghan, and pointed out 17 assertions she made in her Oprah interview that he claimed were proven to be false.

They included the fact that Meghan said the Archbishop of Canterbury had conducted a private wedding ceremony between her and Prince Harry three days ahead of the televised event.

Archbishop Justin Welby did contradict her claims that it was a legal ceremony, but it has been speculated that the ceremony was likely an informal exchange of vows.

He most recently claimed that Fergie, the Duchess of York, backed him after the row, and told him to “get back out there” when he quit GMB.

She allegedly texted him “People have said how much they miss your morning joy and humour. Get back out there!” according to Piers’ Mail on Sunday column.
