He then teased the TV pair as he raised his eyebrows to say: “During that time, they’ve both followed me around – they followed me around while filming a documentary for ITV.

“They’ve also played an incredibly generous part in our annual Prince’s Trust awards event in London.

“So thank you, Ant and Dec, more than I can ever say, for all your wonderful efforts on behalf of the young people who will be supported by this project.”

Ant and Dec later dropped a hint that I’m A Celebrity could be set to stay in Wales.

The 2020 series was filmed in the ruins of Gwrych Castle but bosses are said to be keen to return to down under.

But Dec said: “It’s still very up in the air at the minute.

“People are having conversations with Australia to see if they will let us in, to see if that’s going to work.

“If not, we have a lovely alternative to go back to Wales, last year we had a great time there.

“We had a really lovely series and they made us so welcome – we would gladly go back there.”
