Rylan Clark-Neal fans concerned as he's missing from radio show for seven weeks

Radio 2 presenter Rylan Clark-Neal has sparked concern amongst fans after they noticed he’s been missing from his radio show for approximately seven weeks.

Rylan’s last appearance on his Saturday afternoon show was on May 8, and there hasn’t been any news regarding his disappearance from station bosses.

There also hasn’t been any information on his supposed return date back on the air.

Since his last appearance, millions of his loyal fans have been listening to stand-in presenters for the 3pm show.

Some of the celebs that have taken over his slot since his leave include Strictly’s professional dancer Oti Mabuse and TV presenter Vernon Kay.

Fans became worried when they noticed the former X Factor contestant’s withdrawal from social media.

Rylan is someone who regularly posts and updates his followers on what’s going on in his life, but hasn’t been seen on Instagram since May 9.

In addition to this, The One Show presenter pulled out of hosting the semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 18 due to sickness.

He also hasn’t made his guest appearance alongside his mother for the new series of Celebrity Gogglebox. However, the star previously mentioned that his mother’s battle with Crohn’s disease had forced them to pull out.

Taking to Twitter, some fans have shared their concerns and wished the presenter well.

One fan penned last week: “Missing you very much on Radio 2 Rylan, sincerely hope you are okay and hope to hear you back on the radio soon.”

Another wrote: “Missing you Rylan x my favourite radio 2 presenter x get well soon Saturday afternoon is not the same without you x.”

Since appearing on ITV’s The X Factor in 2012, Rylan has been hot property in the television circuit.

The star has gone on to present shows such as ITV2’s Supermarket Sweep as well as BBC’s It Takes Two alongside Zoe Ball.

Last year August, Rylan confessed to having fears of being overexposed as a presenter as his broadcasting career continued to flourish.

Talking to The Sun at the time, the star said: “I would like just to have my couple of bits to see me through the year all spaced out and that’s that, but in the last two years the jobs I’ve done have all been announced around the same time.

“I don’t want to be like chlamydia. I don’t want to be all over the f*****g shop and everywhere, that’s definitely not what I want. In my nice little world I could have Supermarket Sweep and Ready Steady Cook. They’re at different times of the year.”
