Rylan Clark-Neal savagely jokes he needs to spend his £4 million fortune before divorce

Rylan Clark-Neal savagely joked he needs to spend his £4 million fortune before his divorce from husband Dan Neal.

The 33-year-old separated from his husband in June after being married for six years.

The It Takes Two host appeared on stage at an awards party in London when he made the joke about his finances.

According to The Sun, Rylan said: “I’ve paid for the drinks myself.

“So knock yourself out. I thought I’d spend it before….”

Before ending the comment the TV star laughed and added: “No, anyway…”

Last month, Rylan told fans he was doing OK following his recent split from Dan.

When asked by Heat! what he would like from Santa this Christmas, he said: “A fresh start!

“I really need one. And also I need a holiday – a week’s all-inclusive in the sun, with someone bringing me food and drink and not moving.

“I definitely need a break, rather than a breakdown!”

Rylan recently revealed that after a “pretty hard year” he is putting up six Christmas trees in order to “get a bit of joy” at home.

Following his split the star has changed his stage name to just Rylan, dropping his double barrel surname of Clark-Neal when he has appeared on BBC’s It Takes Two and his Twitter account.

In the credits of the BBC show he now appears as ‘Rylan’.

The couple started their relationship back in 2013 when they met on Big Brother’s Bit On The Side when Rylan was hosting and Dan was a contestant.

They tied the knot in 2014 after getting engaged in Paris and invited the likes of Eamonn Holmes, Ruth Langsford, Katie Price and Emma Willis to their nuptials.

Before announcing the news, Rylan had pulled out of his job hosting the semi-final coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest in May, and he took a ten week break from his Radio 2 show.

He said in a statement: “Following reports about Dan and I spending time apart, I feel I have to speak out – as the way it is being reported is unfair. I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.

“I have taken time away from work as I am not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help. I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to thank everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time.”
