Strictly’s AJ Odudu And Kai ‘have everyone saying romance is 100% on the cards’

Strictly Come Dancing partners AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington have got tongues wagging that they will be the next couple to become romantically involved after meeting on the show.

The 33-year-old TV presenter and professional dancer performed an American Smooth to Whitney Houston’s classic Bodyguard movie hit ‘I Have Nothing’ last week which ended with them locked together in a passionate embrace.

Speculation that the pair would become an item increased after a clip shared to the BBC show’s official Instagram page showed Kai being overhead praising AJ and saying: “Aww, I love you! I love you so much!”

Kai is single after splitting from his dancer girlfriend of five years Giulia Dotta, 29, earlier this summer.

And AJ is also not in a relationship, having said that she has been unsuccessful with dating apps, adding that: “I just don’t meet anyone, aside from TV programmes I’ve done”.

And now there are reports that everyone on the show has been talking about what a perfect match they would be.

A source told The Sun : “Everyone backstage is talking about the sparks flying between AJ and Kai. It’s very passionate and intense whenever they’re together.

“They’re both single and have really hit it off and everyone on the show is saying it’s only a matter of time.

“They’re always laughing and flirting — romance is 100 per cent on the cards. Kai is totally AJ’s type. He’s got loads of banter and he’s been blown away by her, too.”

Fans have also been busy discussing the dancing couple, with one saying “Would love you two to get together,” while another echoed: “I want them to love each other.”

The pair were quizzed about their relationship by Janette Manrara on Strictly: It Takes Two earlier this week.

Referring to the “I love you” comment, she asked: “Do you find that you’re getting a bit of a deeper connection in this partnership?”

Kai answered: “I think that was all down to just the tough, tough week that we had and the fact that we got to the end of the performance and it was flawless and you smashed it, and you did all the lifts brilliant, did all the technique perfect.”

And on Zoe Ball’s Breakfast Show, AJ was grilled about their relationship to which she said was down to their performance.

“You know, I was in character at that moment on the dance floor this week,” she insisted.

“I was playing Rachel, he was playing Frank, they were in love.”
