Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan got into an 'animated exchange' after GMB showdown

Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan exchanged words after the Life Story star stormed off of the Good Morning Britain set.

The 55-year-old recently splurged the truth in a tell all opinion piece, detailing what had happened in the ITV studio following the Meghan Markle bombshell interview which not only divided the nation but Piers and his co-stars.

Prior to Meghan’s open and frank discussion with Oprah Winfrey, Piers had made his “views clear” when it came to the Duchess of Sussex which seemed to rattle the cage of weather man Alex.

With the pair sharing opposing views, it was enviable that an on air clash was about the unfold but none of the viewers were prepared for outspoken Piers to waltz off and not enter in the debate.

It appears co-anchor Susanna wasn’t impressed with her on-screen husband as she ventured to his dressing room to give him what appeared to be a telling off.

According to Piers, who was writing for the Mail On Sunday, it was Susanna’s stern talking that persuaded him to return to his seat on the show.

He explained: “A horrified Susanna quickly followed me out and after an animated exchange persuaded me to come back out.”

Before the feud between Alex and Piers had been ignited, Susanna had also seemed angered by her co-stars strong willed opinion and seemingly tried to shoot him down.

Speaking on GMB after watching the CBS interview, Piers fumed: “I’m angry to the point of boiling over

“I’m sickened by what I’ve just had to watch.”

Wanting to provide some balance, Susanna interject: Ok, but some people might be upset and moved by what they’ve just heard.”

Citing a number of Meghan’s mental health claims, she added: “‘I just didn’t want to be alive any more… I went to the institution and said I needed to go somewhere to get help and I was told that I couldn’t because it wouldn’t be good for the institution.’

“This seemed utterly incredible to me.”

Since the eruption landed on screens, Piers and his family have found themselves to be targets of online bullying with nasty trolls even threatening to “murder him in front of them”.

Knowing full well that his views would serve some sort of comeuppance, Piers penned: “I’ve always subscribed to the ‘if you dish it out, you’ve got to take it’ philosophy.

“But my three sons told me they too are all being targeted, and sent me screenshots of venomous abuse and threats of violence towards them, which made my stomach churn, especially as police are already investigating a death threat made to me and my eldest boy Spencer last month.

“None of them even care about Meghan Markle, let alone agree with my views on her. Yet the Twitter troll mob has found them guilty by association.”
