Susanna Reid makes Ranvir Singh repeat her GMB lines as she was 'terrible at it'

Ranvir Singh claimed she was “terrible” at reading out her lines on Good Morning Britain this Wednesday after Susanna Reid asked her to repeat herself.

The broadcaster, 43, had been tasked with reading the news bulletins and headlines for the day, but one newspaper splash proved troublesome.

Ranvir read out the line once, only for Susanna to ask her to repeat the line for viewers – sparking a light-hearted debate.

Splashed on the front page of The Sun were the words “June Olé days” in reference to Spain’s rumoured decision to open up the country to British tourists with a Vaccine passport in June.

Susanna opened the segment by predicting a “hot girl summer,” before adding: “Apparently Spain is going to open up to British holidaymakers.”

“Ranvir what did you say the… you did the headline brilliantly,” Susanna said.

When she asked Ranvir to repeat the tricky headline, she replied: “Well I mean I really didn’t though, Susanna, which is why you’re making me do it again.

“That’s what people in television are like, ‘Do it again Ranvir, you were terrible at it’.”

Ranvir then admitted her producer had been concerned she would struggle to pronounce the headline on live telly, laughing it off.

“It’s okay Susanna we’re all friends here,” she finished.

The headline flashed up on the screen, as Ranvir remarked: “Susanna will make me do it again.”

Susanna attempted to read out the headline herself later in the episode, remarking: “Works better on the front of The Sun than when I read it.”

GMB celebrated a special anniversary on Wednesday’s show, marking seven years since the morning news programme first launched.

“I want to say a huge happy birthday this morning,” Susanna began, adding: “To the programme. We launched this day back in 2014.”

Debuting on April 28, Good Morning Britain was created by ITV as a replacement for Daybreak, with Piers Morgan joining the show the following year.
