Tipping Point fans convinced Ben Shephard pronounced player's name wrong

Tipping Point fans were left scratching their heads with confusion after watching Monday’s show.

One contestant, whose name was spelt as Jerome on his buzzer station, had continuously been called “Jerum” by host Ben Shephard.

Viewers of the ITV programme became baffled by the pronunciation of his name and took to Twitter to question if Ben had got it wrong.

One person penned: “Either Ben’s pronouncing Jerome’s name wrong or he’s spent his entire life saying it’s not Jer Ohm it’s Gerum.”

Another added: “Didn’t anyone tell Ben that it’s pronounced Jer-O-me, not Jerum? #TippingPoint.”

A third chimed: “Jerum or Jerome lol is kinda cute #TippingPoint.”

“Why is he calling him Jerum? #tippingpoint,” asked a fourth.

While a fifth joked: “I’d have to correct Ben on the pronunciation of my name if I was Jerome #TippingPoint.”

Jerome managed to get himself in the final after bagging the most cash

In spite of the name confusion, Jerome did go on to have much success on the programme, beating John and Tarryn in the first round after scoring £650.

He went on to face Diana, who was stiff competition, but even she proved to be no match for Jerome.

Jerome sailed through to the final round and tried his best to push the mighty jackpot counter over the edge.

He’d had much luck throughout the game but he wasn’t having any joy with the machine, unfortunately.

Jerome had a tough final round and struggled to get the jackpot counter over the line

Ben asked Tuesday’s contestant if he wanted to gamble his £3100 and take an additional three counters to help push the silver starred counter into the money-making zone.

“I think if I got a good run Ben, it could have been enough to knock it over but I’m going to take the money,” said Jerome.

Later on in the show, Ben wanted to determine if Jerome had made the right choice.

Three tokens were placed into drop zone three and the jackpot counter barely budged, meaning Jerome had made the right choice.

Tipping Point airs on weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
