Tipping Point viewers distracted by fake audience noises in new series

Tipping Point: Lucky Stars viewers pointed out that the canned audience noises on Sunday’s episode were too ‘over the top’.

Ben Shephard was back with a brand new series of the celebrity special and due to lockdown restrictions, the famous faces were socially distanced.

The pandemic meant there was also no live studio audience as fake applause and cheering could be heard instead.

Jason Manford, Debbie McGee and Iwan Thomas were taking part as the trio attempted to win some mega money for charity.

Fans were distracted by the fake audience as they took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One said: “Audience are way too over the top for me”.

While another wrote: “The ‘woohs’, ‘yays’ & ‘ahhs’ from this fake audience are ridiculous [sic]”.

“Can you lose the fake crowd if you watch via the red button?”, typed a third.

“I hate the canned audience already”, penned another viewer.

Manford was the first player to be eliminated from the show, so it was just Debbie and Iwan left to battle it out to hopefully win the £20,000 jackpot.

It came right down to the very last drop as Debbie managed to beat Iwan with a staggering £3,400.

This meant she was in with the chance of winning the jackpot.

After managing to get the jackpot coin down to the second shelf of the Tipping Point machine, Debbie ran out of counters.

Ben offered her three more counters in exchange for the £5,200 she had already won.

However, Debbie decided not to gamble as she told the presenter: “The thing is Ben, I just don’t think the gods have been on my side today”.

She added: “I’m going to take the £5,200”.

Debbie’s chosen charity was The Grand Order of Lady Ratlings Cup of Kindness.

Tipping Point: Lucky Stars airs Sundays at 7pm on ITV.
