Ulrika Jonsson ‘signs up to Celebs Go Dating’ after ‘jumping at chance' to be on show

Ulrika Jonsson has reportedly signed up to upcoming series of Celebs Go Dating.

The 54-year-old presenter is said to have “jumped at the chance” to be on the show and meet someone new.

Speaking to The Sun, a source claimed: “The idea of being properly matched up to someone by experts is ideal for her after a few failed romances.

“Ulrika is a big name and has an interesting back story.

“She is one of the older celebs to have taken part in the series and it adds a totally different element to the show.

“Plus she’s a great sport and knows what makes great TV.”

Ulrika will be handing her love life over to dating agents Paul Carrick Brunson and Anna Williamson alongside client coordinator Tom Read Wilson.

While previous series of the show saw the celebrity move into The Mansion to follow Covid protocols, for 2022 the doors to the famous dating agency will be opened once more.

It comes after the blonde bombshell said that her marriage ended due to Gladiators, comparing it to the infamous ‘Strictly curse’.

Writing in her recent column for The Sun, the star penned: “I faltered. The second year of the show’s recording, a member of the camera crew caught my eye on the dance floor at a party towards the end of the filming.

“We ended up dancing together, albeit not Strictly-styley. Not intimate but enough for me to get a taste of something enticing and forbidden.

“Nothing happened but I developed feelings for this man and came home a much-changed wife. I didn’t want to be at home.”

She said her “marriage broke down” following the incident and she was later unfaithful to her husband.

Ulrika was married to cameraman John Turnball at the time, who she married in 1990, before having a son together in 1994, however they divorced the following year.

She has been unlucky in love several times after being married for a total of three times and has four children.

She had a daughter with Markus Kempen in 2000.

Her second husband was Lance Gerrard-Wright from 2003 to 2006.

He was intended to be the “prize” for the female contestants on dating show Mr Right, that Ulrika was presenting.

She then married Brian Monet in 2008, before they separated in 2019.
