What is Naughty Boy's real name – and where does I'm A Celebrity star's nickname come from?

ITV show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is back with an all knew stellar line up.

One of those on the line up is music producer and DJ, Naughty Boy.

Naughty Boy avoided the first trial, which went to Richard Madeley and Frankie Bridge to face.

He was originally meant to be part of the line up for the 2020 show, but had to withdraw due to a family illness and was replaced by BBC Radio 1’s Jordan North.

He has worked with some of the industry’s top names and is familiar to many who have followed his career or the stars he has worked with over the years.

But what may not be so clear is the reason behind him getting his name.

So where does Naughty Boy get his name from?

It is unclear exactly where he got the name ‘Naughty Boy’ from, but he told ITV in 2018 that he created the alias in order “to not be seen”.

“No one could judge [Naughty Boy] based on his colour, or his ethnicity or even religion because when you hear music it’s colourless, it’s a colour that everyone in the world understands,” he explained.

“I’m so much more comfortable now to talk about being proud of being Pakistani, being proud of being Muslim because I’ve got a CV – those songs were given without me trying to sell my skin colour.”

Ahead of his time in the jungle, he said: “I am most looking forward to learning about myself.

“I don’t know what people in the music industry will think about me being in the castle, but having a break from everything is something I think everyone should have and do once a year.

“I love my friends and family, but I think it is good to have a break and time out.”

Naughty Boy’s real name is Shahid Khan.

He is 36 and was born in Watford.

With £44,000 he won on the TV show Deal or No Deal, he built a recording studio in his parents’ garden and began making music.

“When you’ve got ten pounds in your bank account you don’t know what £44,000 is going to feel like, so up until it went into my bank account I just thought this is just a number,” he said.

Since, he has worked with the likes of Beyoncé and has had a strong professional relationship with Emeli Sande.

He had a number one single in 2013 titled ‘La La La’, featuring Sam Smith. His album, ‘Hotel Cabana’, went to number two in the UK charts in the same year.

I’m A Celebrity airs nightly on ITV at ITVHub at 9pm
