A Place in the Sun fans tell guests to 'f*** off' over outrageous property offer

A couple were slammed by A Place in the Sun viewers when they put in a cheeky offer to get their dream pad way below their asking price.

Robert and Thomas, from Glasgow, have been looking to buy a holiday home in Costa Blanca, southeast of Spain, and hoping that it will one day turn to their permanent home.

“As much as we’re buying for ourselves, we are also buying for our friends,” they explained to host Lee Juggurnauth.

“A real social space is really what we’re looking for.”

While outside space is their top priority, a minumum of two bedrooms is also crucial in their house hunt in Torrevieja.

With a maximum budget of £83,000, Lee showed them five different properties and they loved the last property, which offers them a wrapped around outdoor space and a huge solarium.

Thomas said: “I think we both kind of realised that we would be happy for more property five due to location.£

Lee then asked: “So property number five was on the market for just under £77,000. What offer would you like to put on for the bungalow?”

Rob said: “We were thinking…£65,000.”

Lee quickly acknowledged to them that it’s “quite a cheeky offer”, adding: “It’s £12,000 less than the asking price. Let me give the agent a call and see what he says.”

Fans were fuming and blasted Robert and Thomas on Twitter for the low offer.

“Oh f*** off, cheeky sods,” one wrote and a second commented: “If I were the owner would tell them they can sod off! Pair off cheeky g*ts!”

A third added: “Don’t ask, don’t get I suppose.”

Despite being cash buyers, the houseowner rejected their offer and came back with a counter offer of £70,000.

They tried their luck again and went for £68,000 – which the owner has accepted.

Lee congratulated them and joked: “That’s amazing news. You’ve literally found yourself a place in the sun!”
