Adele praises fan for pronouncing name 'perfectly' revealing many say it wrong

Adele was overjoyed at the moment a fan pronounced her name “perfectly”, revealing many have said her name wrong for years.

In a Q&A session called Happy Hour with Adele to promote her new single, I Drink Wine, the singer, 34, declared that a fan had hit the nail on the head with how to pronounce her name.

The London-based fan appeared to say Adele’s name in a north-London accent, calling her “uh-dell” instead of “ah-dell”.

“I love that. She pronounced my name perfectly,” Adele gushed. “Where’s she from, Enfield or something?”

The Rolling In The Deep singer is from Enfield and was raised in Tottenham, north London.

The songwriter cancelled her Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in January, which caused controversy across the pond.

She has said she will now focus on a brand new show after overseeing its creative direction, with her priority creating the intimacy she felt was missing.

Las Vegas fans were left devastated as they had already bought their tickets for the show and Adele cancelled just hours before it was about to start.

She told Elle: “There was just no soul in it. The stage set-up wasn’t right. It was very disconnected from my band and me, and it lacked intimacy. And maybe I tried too hard to give it those things in such a controlled environment.”

Adele admitted that even though there was a lot of fallout from her decision, she refused to go back on her choice.

She explained: “The first couple of months were really, really hard, but it actually made my self-confidence grow because it was a very brave thing to do.

“And I don’t think many people would have done what I did. I’m very proud of myself for standing by my artistic needs.”

Adele said that she had revamped plans for the 32 concert dates.

She explained that she wants her show to “tell the story” of the beginning of her career.

The Weekends With Adele shows are scheduled to take place from November 18, 2022, through to March 25, 2023.
