The One Show host Alex Jones has revealed she was left “shocked” after her three-year-old son broke his arm and her other son fell ill just hours before coming on air on Wednesday evening (November 2).

The 45-year-old Welsh beauty took to her 339k Instagram followers to share a snap of the gorgeous tot in a sling covered in colourful marker following his horrific ordeal.

The BBC star captioned the pic: “Anybody else having a shocker of a day?!!!

Alex Jones almost didn’t make it on air

“Sleeves that are not pulled down just perfectly and now a cast for SIX WEEKS!!!

“He’s not into it…” Alex added dubiously, before revealing her day had then been made even worse.

The presenter shared a photo of her five-year-old son Teddy wearing an Iron Man costume.

“Then this one gets sent home from school with a ‘slight temperature’,” she penned.

She did however make it on air and was joined by her co-host Jermain Jenas as the pair welcomed their celebrity guests.

The two were joined by former international rhythmic gymnast Gabby Logan alongside EastEnders star Danielle Harold.

Alex’s update on her sons comes after Kit had to undergo surgery back in May for a routine operation.

The star revealed on social media that she had spent a nerve-wracking morning waiting for him to come back from the operating theatre.

Luckily, Kit appeared to be all ok after his surgery, returning home to his family.

Charlie is an insurance broker, who originally hails from New Zealand.

Not much is known about Charlie, as he prefers to remain private despite his wife’s fame.
