Amanda Holden 'fell asleep' as Phantom Man 'took over her mind' on Britain's Got Talent

Amanda Holden has revealed that she thinks one of the Britains Got Talent entrants ‘had control over her mind’ when auditioning for the new series.

The new season of BGT returns to ITV on Saturday, April 16 and features an all-star judging line-up including Amanda, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Simon Cowell – with Ant and Dec returning for hosting duties.

However speaking ahead of the launch of the new series, Amanda revealed the one audition she cannot wait to watch again on TV.

Speaking about one of the acts, Amanda said she ‘fell asleep’ onstage during their audition and cannot remember what happened, saying: “We had a phantom man perform and he got me up on stage.

“I’ll be honest, I can’t really remember what happened. One minute I was on stage and then the next minute I was asleep, and Alesha was like, ‘Well, you just did this’ and I was like, ‘No I didn’t.”

Amanda later found out that she correctly guessed the item that fellow judge Alesha had picked from a box – but was astonished as she does not how she got the answer right.

Reflecting on The Phantom Man’s audition, the judge thinks that he might have ‘had control’ over her mind, adding: “I was tasked with guessing what the other judges had picked from a box.

“He obviously had control over my mind because I guessed exactly whatever Alesha picked, even though I didn’t see. I don’t know how it happened or how it worked.”

It is one of the many auditions that viewers will see in the series, with Britains Got Talent producers announcing that fans will also be able to catch a first look glimpse of a full audition from each episode on the Friday, before the full episode airs on the following Saturday.

However, Amanda has revealed that after her surprising involvement with The Phantom Man’s audition, it is the one she cannot wait to see played back, saying: “I can’t wait to watch that one on TV.”
