On Wednesday (August 17), Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner ruled the actress passed away from inhalation of smoke and thermal injuries.

The coroner revealed Anne experienced a “sternal fracture due to blunt trauma” after ploughing into a house at 90mph on August 5.

The actress’s life support machine was turned off on Sunday (August 14) after she suffered horrific burns in the collision in her Mini Cooper.

Earlier this week, Anne’s family released a statement that revealed it had “long been her choice to donate her organs if any are viable”.

A representative for Los Angeles Police said the department was investigating whether drug use contributed to the accident.

Blood tests revealed that the actress had cocaine and fentanyl in her system during the high-speed crash.
