BBC Breakfast fans notice odd detail in Carol Kirkwood's weather report

BBC Breakfast fans were left feeling rather under the weather after spotting an odd detail in Carol Kirkwood’s morning report on Tuesday (November 15).

The forecast from the former Strictly contestant, 60, featured a cloud formation on the map which left viewers talking.

One Twitter user posted a snap of the creepy-looking face over the United Kingdom alongside the caption: “Atmospheric masked cloud face being shared by Carol this morning.”

It comes days after Carol hit back at a BBC Breakfast co star for making her “redundant”.

Carol was on the show last week with Ben Thompson, who was standing in for Jon Kay.

Ben began: “Now Carol we often say that the weather is quite complicated, don’t we? So far this morning you have told us temperatures are above average, we have rain which is really unpredictable – there is the whole lot today.”

Carol replied: “I think you’ve just made me redundant, Ben.” She added: “Yes, you are absolutely right, but I will press on anyway.”

She welcomed viewers to the programme before showing a “beautiful” picture someone had sent in of a stormy sky over Eastbourne.

Carol continued: “There is some cloud around in the west which is producing some patchy light rain or drizzle. We’ve got more persistent rain across the northwest of Scotland, with temperatures in Stornoway being 13 degrees.”

The forecaster said: “It looks like there will be some murky conditions, particularly in the west, with patchy drizzle once again. But it is going to be very mild with temperatures between 11 degrees and 16 degrees.”

Ben thanked her for a “much more technical” update than his own, stating: “That was a much more technical, specific, expert update than I could ever hope to do. I was just proving I was listening, that’s all.”
