BBC Breakfast’s Dan Walker calls out ‘discrimination’ as co-stars don matching outfits

BBC Breakfast’s Dan Walker joked there was “discrimination” in the BBC offices after he spotted two of the show’s presenters who turned up to work in almost identical outfits.

During Tuesday’s instalment of the popular morning show, Nina Warhust, 41, was busy discussing the latest news headlines before she passed over to Carol Kirkwood, 58, for the weather.

But her 44-year-old co-host couldn’t help but notice the matching ensembles as the pair rocked black dresses covered with yellow flowers.

Rather than focusing on the miserable weather conditions to come, the dad-of-three called out the similarity and questioned why he wasn’t clued in on the memo ahead of time.

As the pair got the latest weather predictions for the week ahead from the meteorologist, Dan complained there was “discrimination” in the office.

Nina opened with: “Let’s go to Carol whose frock is very similar to mine this morning” as Carol chimed in with: “Dan obviously didn’t get the memo Nina.”

It was at this point that the Strictly Come Dancing star called out the pair on their lack of inclusion as he confessed he felt let out on the show.

He joked: “Where was the little memo? Did you text each other last night saying wear yellow and back?

“Come on, I’ve got to be involved in these things, you can’t discriminate you two.”

It comes after the doting mum snapped at her colleague as they resisted the urge to eat royal desserts ahead of the segment on the upcoming royal platinum jubilee.

In Monday’s instalment of the hit BBC show, the pair introduced the segment with a delicious trifle made by Great British Bake Off 2019 winner David Atherton.

During the show, the pair discussed the nationwide competition which tasks budding bakers to pick up their mixing bowls to create a new dessert for the royal occasion.

But the pair struggled to resist the sweet treat as they patiently waited for the professional chef to appear on the show and discuss his latest creation.

BBC Breakfast airs every day from 6am on BBC One.
