BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty leaves co-star red-faced as she asks 'personal' question

BBC Breakfast star Naga Munchetty left co-star Charlie Stayt almost lost for words after quizzing him on his flexibility.

The duo returned to their usual spot on the red sofa after being replaced by Ben Thompson and Victoria Valentine during Thursday’s show (November 10).

As they tackled the top headlines from the front pages of today’s newspapers, the 47-year-old admitted she only has pictures before asking her co-star: “How flexible are you?”

As he shuffled about some papers on his desk, the 60-year-old responded: “What’s the story?” before Naga interjected: “Physically flexible?”

Not willing to answer before he found out the meaning behind the question, he repeated: “What’s the story?”

Not wanting to give up the line of questioning, Naga continued: “It’s a very simple question, Charlie. It’s not like going into anything too personal. Are you flexible?”

“Let’s see the picture,” insisted the news reader before Naga giggled and lifted up the photo.

The presenter proceeded to hold up a photo of 14-year-old Liberty Barros – better known as the “world’s most flexible girl.”

The teenager set a world record for the most number of repetitions of the most flexible backbend movement in the world, named the ‘Liberty Low Down’, setting the spine-bending record in her home gym in Peterborough on October 5,

Looking at the photo, which featured Liberty’s head sandwiched between the back of her knees, Naga asked: “Are you that flexible?”

Naga then explained: “In that position she walked 20 meters, so bent backwards holding her knees and she did it in 22.53 seconds and she set a new Guinness World Record.”

Analysing the photo, Charlie added: “It takes you a little while to kind of work out the picture doesn’t it? As in what’s facing each direction.”

There was a moment of silence as the pair continued looking at the picture before Charlie exclaimed: “Well done is what I say!,” before he turned and looked at the camera, demanding: “Don’t try that at home!”

Despite being just 14 years old, Liberty has become something of a gymnastics starlet after racking up millions of views on TV and social media and is currently competing for a semi-final place in Spain’s Got Talent.
