BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty missing from show as co-host replaces her

BBC Breakfast underwent a major presenter shake-up on Thursday morning (September 15) as Naga Munchetty was missing from the show.

The BBC’s hit morning programme has already gone through several format changes this week following the Queen’s death.

Its seen several presenters ditch the Salford studio to provide special royal coverage during the Queen’s final journey from Balmoral and her subsequent lying in state.

Earlier this week, Jon Kay travelled to Edinburgh and Sally appeared from Buckingham Palace as crowds queued to visit the Queen’s coffin and bid their monarch farewell.

But it seems viewers had to adapt to another switch-up on Thursday as Naga was nowhere to be seen on their TV screens.

Instead, it was Nina Warhurst who stepped in to replace as her in the studio, and Charlie had left the studio to appear from Westminster.

Naga and Charlie usually anchor the BBC One morning show from Thursday to Saturday every week.

BBC’s Breakfast correspondent John Maguire appeared from Carriage Gates, so he was also on hand to help Charlie as the pair spoke to members of the crowd from both ends.

Opening the show before the sun rose, Charlie said: “Thousands of people queue through the night to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II as she lies in state in Westminster Hall.”

Viewers were shown pictures of huge crowds queuing up to pay their respects to Her late Majesty during her first full day of lying in state.

Charlie continued: “These are pictures of the queue which is currently around two miles long. Stretching down along the South Bank of the River Thames.”
