BBC Breakfast's Nina Warhurst worries fans as she shares she rushed young son to hospital

BBC Breakfast star Nina Warhurst left fans worried when she rushed her son to hospital.

The TV presenter was forced to skip a charity event on Saturday (June 25) in order to look after her injured son, which involved spending a dreaded five hours in A&E.

Nina took to Twitter with a snap of her son’s arm in a cast as she updated her fans on what happened.

Catching up with her 29,000 followers, she wrote: “Supposed to be walking 26 miles for @alzheimerssoc today, but life took a different turn.

“Five hours in A&E ain’t so bad when the paid staff are attentive, kind & keep you updated. He cried as we LEFT!

“Thanks @WythenshaweHosp Ps thanks for sponsor I’ll do the miles somehow!)” (sic).”

Later on, Nina issued an update on her son’s condition alongside photos of his arm cast, which was covered in stickers.

Nina said: “Tbf walked close to this trying to locate cash, break a note* and escape the A&E car park.

She finished: “*Thanks @marksandspencer for the compulsory purchase. Real classy.”

Fans were clearly concerned for Nina’s son as they rushed to reply to her tweet.

One wrote: “Oh no, wishing him a speedy recovery.”

BBC political reporter Calaire Hamilton commented: “Oh no! Lots of love to you all.”

A third said: “Oh no! Hope he’s doing okay x.”

She was grateful to staff at A&E for their “kind” and “attentive” behaviour

Nina is often seen fronting business stories on BBC Breakfast after being appointed the show’s business presenter in October 2020.

The TV star joined BBC Breakfast on a freelance basis back in 2018, where she’s regularly filled in for the main hosts when they were unavailable.

However, she started her career as a desk producer for Russia Today, one of the BBC’s rival broadcasters.

NIna has been married to her caterer husband Ted since March 2014 after they met in Croatia.

The couple share their two children, Digby, six, and Michael, four.
