Carol Kirkwood told 'wait your turn' by Naga Munchetty as BBC Breakfast turns awkward

Carol Kirkwood was playfully told off by her BBC Breakfast co-star Naga Munchetty during the latest instalment of the morning show.

Naga and co-host Charlie Stayt were back on presenting duty on Thursday (June 9) and they welcomed sports presenter Mike Bushell to the studio to discuss the latest headlines.

Towards the end of the conversation, weather presenter Carol Kirkwood appeared on screen ahead of her weather segment.

Mike said: “I always get misty-eyed when I seen Carol. In a nice way.”

Naga pointed out: “Is there a negative way about being misty-eyed about Carol?”

Mike replied: “No” and Carol quickly interrupted saying: “I am here, chaps”.

A giggling Naga went on to joke: “We’re talking about you, not too you. You wait your turn.”

Carol could be seen laughing before Naga added: “Now is a good time Carol.”

The Scottish presenter then proceeded to discuss the latest weather forecast.

Earlier in the show, Naga took a swipe at Charlie over his comment about the weather.

After Carol finished one of her bulletins, the broadcaster shared an observation.

He said: “Thank you, Carol. It’s good to know that weather is different in different places.

“We’ve got that worked out early doors today, that’s good information.”

Carol could be heard giggling but Naga didn’t seem too impressed with the comment.

She said: “You wonder Carol, how long has he been doing this and he’s only now figured that out.”

Carol replied: “Charlie is right. It is different in different places

Charlie responded: “Thank you, good point.”

Naga recently rushed to support one of her colleagues who injured herself while riding an electric scooter.

Lara Lewington, star of BBC Click, was left with severe cuts running down the middle of her face and was forced to undergo stitches after her fall.

She took to Twitter to share the news of her injury, sharing a snap which showed her blonde hair framing her face and revealed the cuts bisecting her forehead and upper lip, with the skin around her nose reddened too.

“After being cleaned up and stitched up, 6 days later I’m healing well, and grateful it wasn’t worse.

“Back on @BBCClick & @PackedLunchC4 this week, cuts ‘n all!”

Naga was one of the first in the replies section to support the injured star, as she wrote: “That looks so sore! Feel better. Heal soon. Sending love xx.”
