Catherine Zeta-Jones unrecognisable with platinum blonde bob as she films new role

Catherine Zeta-Jones was completely unrecognisable in a platinum blonde bob as she filmed for her new TV series National Treasure.

The 52-year-old British actress completely transformed her look, as she is usually seen with long brunette hair that passes her shoulders.

But for her new role, the beauty is filming in New Orleans with a very different look.

In new pictures, Hollywood actress Catherine was seen with her deep brown locks covered up with what is assumed to be a sleek, short bob in a bright blonde colour.

She wore a beige top and trousers as she walked past a car while on set of the television spin-off of Nicolas Cage’s National Treasure movies.

Catherine is known for her ageless beauty as well as her acting talent, but it’s reported that she wasn’t happy with getting “pretty girl” roles in her early career.

She first shot to stardom in the UK in the 1980s thanks to her role as Mariette in the Darling Buds of May.

After that she landed roles in America in The Mask of Zorro in 1998 and Entrapment in 1999.

And she met her now-husband Michael Douglas, who at 77 is 25 years her senior, after being introduced to each other at a film festival by actor Danny DeVito.

They got married in 2000 and now share two children – Dylan, 21, and Carys, 18.

Earlier this week, Catherine and Michael paid tribute to their son Dylan after they attended his graduation ceremony.

Michael shared a photo with his son, who was dressed in his cap and gown and held a plaque from prestigious Ivy League school Brown University, where he majored in political science.

He wrote in the caption: “One proud dad! Congratulations Dylan! Well done!”

Catherine’s own photo saw the duo embraced in a tight hug, with Dylan towering over his actress mum.

She wrote: “Graduation congratulations to my boy, my pride, my joy, Dylan.

“I am inexplicably proud of you and I love you beyond words.”
