Celeb SAS DS star leaves fans devastated as he quits show after less than a year

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’ Remi Adeleke has left fans devastated after quitting the Channel 4 show after less than a year – and on the eve of the 2022 grand finale.

The former US Navy Seal joined the show in April 2022 as an all-new DS when he replaced Melvyn Downes amid the shake-up when Ant Middleton departed.

On the eve of the final – which is also Remi’s final ever SAS show – he took to social media to announce the sad news.

Sharing a snap from his time on the beloved programme, Remi penned an emotional caption which read: “Bye bye UK. Tonight’s finale will also be my finale, as I won’t be returning for the next UK [SAS Who Dares Wins] instalments.

“I’d like to thank my brothers, Billy, Rudy and Foxy for allowing me to be a part of this EPIC, life changing and fulfilling ride.

“I’d like to thank our AMAZING crew for capturing all the magic!

“To all the SAS fans who stuck around despite the changes, thank you for welcoming me.”

“To all the haters, thank you for hating, as haters have always fuelled my drive towards success,” he added.

Remi’s early departure means he had only appeared in one civilian series and one celebrity series during his time on the gruelling programme.

Signing off in his caption, Remi concluded: “Finally, thank you to @minnowfilms and @channel4 especially Johnny [Jon Cahn] for hiring me.

“God bless, much love and KEEP PAYING THE MAN!!!!”

Former co-star Rudy Reyes – who replaced Ant Middleton on the show and joined at the same time as Remi – penned: “My Brother what challenges and opportunities for growth we all had together leading recruits!!! See U soon My Man.”

Fans were completely taken aback by the news and seemed upset to learn of Remi’s departure.

One penned: “Gutted you won’t be back… it’s been brilliant having a series that builds people up as well as challenging them…”

While a second said: “Ah you will be missed, you’re great on the show. Don’t understand how anyone can throw hate at you to be honest, some very strange people on the internet. Good luck with your future ventures and we look forward to seeing them!”

And a third added: “So gutted to read this Remi! You honestly were incredible. Taught me so much and couldn’t value anymore… all the love and hope to catch you soon!!!”

This comes as the remaining celebrity recruits undergo a brutal interrogation for their final task, with the show wrapping up tonight (Sunday, October 16).
